Tip: Saving Disk Space

Today's computers and laptops have gigs and gigs of disk space to store and save tons of information and data. But even though it seems like you have virtually unlimited room to download and install EVERYTHING you could ever want:

  • Digital Copies (of movies you purchase)

  • Mac and PC games

  • Pictures, Documents & Pages from the Internet

It doesn't hurt to be a little frugal and budget your disk space once in a while.

Computer files and folders behave the same as real files and folders. Whenever you open a picture, start a game, or play a song or movie, your computer pulls all necessary files from its " file cabinet" (so to say) and gives them to you.

But just like in a real office, your computer doesn't have time to put files back in their original location when you're finished, it's easier to return them to the front of the "file cabinet".  Eventually it takes longer for the computer to find the files you want as all your files become disorganized.

When that happens you will need to contact someone like Computer Repair Force.

Now, you can't avoid disorganizing your computer files, but you can lower the frequency of this by minimizing the amount of unnecessary files your computer has to store. So when you're tempted to "save to hard drive", ask yourself;

"Do I really need to?"
